Fundamentals of Human Movement

Human movement transcends disciplines (e.g. yoga, weightlifting, gymnastics, dance...) Therefore, we will train through lens of universal human movement patterns with a focus on increasing physical freedom. Heavily influenced by the work of Ido Portal and Andreo Spina, this class will explore methods to develop mobility, strength, joint resiliency, balance, physical intelligence, movement complexity, and much more… all in an effort to play more seriously! Students should expect to move across the floor, hang, push, pull, locomote, jump, twist, bend, squat, invert, sweat, laugh, and smile. Prerequisites for this class include possessing a body, and a willingness to move it. Students should bring a notebook, pen, and a beginner’s mind.
